How to describe today? Hmmm....

I woke up at 0630 today and after a while, went back to sleep until 0800. Then I played RO for a while until 0915. And after that, *skip* *skip* *skip* fully clothes when suddenly I realized my hand phone was running low on battery. So, while waiting for the charging time, RO again. :D.

Then, at approximately 1017, I left my room for the library. Tak ajak Azam. Mesti die merajuk kalau baca ni. And I waited, and waited (for...), until it was finally 1055, and it was time for class. And when I got into the lecture room, it was bigger than usual. It seemed that the divider of the rooms were opened for the purpose of mid-term tests that we are having. It IS the mid-term time after all. Then, without the help (initially) from Mr. Zack aka Abang Selekeh aka Abang Denggi, Fakhru and I, started to pull the dividers together as to separate the two rooms. *skip* *skip* Class ended and I went back to the library.

It was boring being alone in the library. Then, from afar, I can feel the aura, the air changing, and...Ta-Da!! Cheesecake came walking in with her usual frown, with the usual undescribeable cuteness, and then, sat at the unsual place where I can't have a good view. Damn it..OPS..Hihi. Eh, but I went to the library NOT because of her alright? Well, not ONLY because of her anyways. I had to study more than usual for this trimester because of ....(go back to previous posts to find out). Her being in the library at the same time is just a bonus situation for me. *very wide smile with teeth showing*

Then Amin came in and I had someone to 'teman' me. And then came Yussamir, Firdaus (which we found out was called "Fer" by someone...*grin*), Naim, Prof (I'm not sure the real name, maybe Syafiq), Daud (who made a very indecent joke about *tuuuuuuut*) and Rompin (who went back after we made some fun out of him...kesian Rompin). And after a while, came in Joshua with Candy(?) and sat somewhere near the entrance, bercengkerama di sana. He didn't even noticed me eventhough I purposely walked very near to him. It seemed that today, Mr. Joshua was in a very flirtatious(?) mood. LOL.

It was not until after I came back from my "stalking" that he noticed me. And even that was because I was standing blocking his way to the photocopy room. He got to see Cheesecake and even said ".....*eh bro, what did you say ah? I was distracted lah*...,". Well, he said something about Cheesecake. I don't remember now because when he said that I was looking at her and saw her oh-so-expensive-and-rare smile. Again. *skip* *skip* I got so close to her but couldn't even say a simple "Hi". *skip* *skip*. It's time for, NANOSCIENCE!!

"I'm a man of my word okay?"

We usually hear that line just before he gave us the oh-my-god-it's-that quiz. The quiz consisted of only 2 questions which question 1 was very answerable. But question 2 was more like memorizing a whole graph. Make that 2 graphs. Luckily, today's quiz was open note's. Lucky eh, Joshua? But I wonder, where was the supposedly snow? You know, as the saying goes, "It will be snowing the day bla bla bla...". *skip* *skip* *skip* Someone mentioned DrNano again. *skip* *skip* *skip* *skip*. EH? REWIND. TO......HELLO KITTY!

Heh heh. Like I said, today, somebody's feeling very flirtatious. >:) . After the event of bercengkerama in the library, he did it in lecture too. Wau. *flirting* *flirting* Hello Kitty eh? Hahaha.

Serious to Funny/Crazy to Seriously Emotional

Now it's 2++AM Monday 21st of July 2008.

I want to go to sleep very badly now. But if I do that I will not remember what I'm going to write about the day and night I had during Sunday, 20th of July 2008.

I originally had plan with Joshua to have lunch together. Which was what we did exactly from noon till almost late in the evening. The last time we had lunch together was after the Solid State Electronics final exam which we were joined by Mr. Happy Harry and Magued. This time, Mr. Happy was unable to attend for he was not even in Cyberjaya while Magued was MIA. It was fun hanging out so long at the Kopitiam shop. We talked about many things. From fun stuff, to religious matters. From cars, to girls. From superficial, to supernatural and superstitious. It wa so long after my last time talking with someone about just anything. All in all, it was a great time and I really had fun.

And then at night, Roommate A (who would be known as Azam from now because he went and move to Cyberia and thus no longer my roommate) asked me to go accompany him to buy groceries. But then, the first thing we did when we arrived at Alamanda was looking for a DiGi store because he cheapskately wanted to buy the RM8.50 starter pack with RM22 worth of free talktime (which we found out that was not given all at once from activating). While choosing his new number, I saw this cute looking DiGi's yellow fellow's phone strap. So, giving in to my weakness for cute things/girls/anything, I bought it. Now it hangs on my phone. So, not only I have the big yellow fellow following me everywhere (or like they say in the TV ads, "almost"), I have the mini version of him hanging on my phone. A little ad, "DiGi, Always the smarter choice".

Then we went grocery shopping at CarreFour. And giving in to my weakness for sweet things (again) I bought two packets of candy (OH MY GOD, even now I can hear the little girl's words to me yesterday). But, I did buy the sugarless soy milk though. That should balance it up (I think...I HOPE SO). While browsing some items, I stumbled upon a baby in a stroller. From the look on his face, you can tell he was damn bored. His mother and grandfather was talking about something when I decided to cheer him up. I did my smile-up-little-baby-cos-uncle-is-trying-to-cheer-you-up face which you won't get to see unless you're little kids or a cute girl asking me to show you :D. And that means if you're a guy, you won't get to see it and for girls, if you don't ask, you wont get to see it either (try to understand what I'm trying to tell you in the previous two lines).

He laughed so loud that it caught the attention of the mother and grandfather who in return, smiled at me. Thus proving my point that I like little kids and they, in return, like me back. It's the kind of natural bond that unfortunately, cannot be done between me and girls. Not once in my 24 years of life that a girl that I like, would miraculously, like me back. Some girls do like me though. Really. But again, none of them are the girl that I like. *emo*

And then, we went for karaoke. Again, it was so long after the last session of karaoke-ing with Azam and some few other friends. I did moderately in karaoke (^_^). Always do, except for some of my specialty songs which I will do more than average. Hihi. And for my last song, I chose the one sung by Ramli Saripand Khatijah Ibrahim, "Doa Buat Kekasih" trans "Prayer For The Lover". It can be translated as follows:

At first I thought this song is for getting over some kind of break ups. But then, I was wrong. It's because of the line "Where lies the value of loyalty?". For some people, it might be different. But for me, it is the utmost important thing in a relationship (not that I ever had one though..hihi). So basically, this song is to PREVENT you from having a break up. Proof? This:

I really don't understand some of my friends. They change girlfriends like changing shirts. And even worse, some of them even have two or three girls at the same time (two/three timing). And for a little quarrel, they broke up. For those who had loyally stick to your relationship until the bitter end, it's not a consolation for me to say this, but I am really proud of you and would proudly call you my friend. But for those who is like the description, I really don't know what to say.

I mean, if you have a girlfriend, then it must be of your choice. YOUR CHOICE. Then after a little quarrel, you're letting that choice go? Have you ever stop to think that maybe someone else was eye-ing her before you gamble on your luck? The sacrifice that someone had to make to see her happy? With you? The sacrifice that you made waste when you decided to let her go. Without even trying. With the usual "it cannot be saved" excuse.

Now now, it's not like I'm saying that excuse cannot be used. But that only applies for the people who had tried to hold on until the bitter end. And for some of you, I really know that is not the case. And to think I made that sacrifice for you just because I called you my friend first before we met her. I'm thankful that it was my mother who raised me up most of the time. It's because of that I value the meaning of the word loyalty. It's like I told Joshua,

"i would not let go until she is the wan asking for it"
"even if it kills me i will stay"

And such, is my loyalty. Mind you, this is not to attract attention or gaining credits. Because for me those will be achieved by my actions and not simply just word. This is for the disappointment that I have towards some of you. Two times already, I made the sacrifice for you, my friends. Maybe it's two times for me. But then again, I'm not the only other person in this world. Might be some other dude that was more suitable for her made the sacrifice for you also. And might be more than two times. Just think about that when you're letting go of her. Better yet, JUST THINK for I don't believe you ever do it (thinking).

On another side of emotional, I found Lutfi's blog today. It made me realized how much I missed those good old days at school. Made me realized how much I missed you guys (NOT in a gay way). The memories made me smile and cry at the same time (especially that Hari Raya letter by *****).

Bummer..

Today was a bummer.

Why?

Because today is Saturday and I did not go home for this weekend. And and and, on Saturdays, the HB2 food shops are all closed. So, I have to walk all the way from 5th floor of this fricking-no-elevator hostel, to HB3 (exaggerating LOL) to buy food.

I ordered "nasi padprik ayam" at the food shop in HB3. And, while waiting for it, I went to the convenience (as if) store just oh-so-near from the food shop. And when I wanted to pay, I had to wait for this one female student who, suddenly had the mind to add another thing to buy. So her things are already on the counter and I had to wait while she leisurely chose her other things (which turned out to be a packet of breath mints....only a packet...not even packetsss...she had to take her sweet time choosing it). Ah, ya, for those of you who would say "why didn't you pay first?", it's because the shop lady scanned her first few things already. And this shop, EVERY THINGS has to be scanned, even a packet of sweets. So, there.

And then, a staff came in bringing his daughter along. He picked up his things so fast, that when it was my turn to pay (finally), he was already beside me wanting to pay also. And his daughter took a bar of chocolate (or was it two?) and was very eager to open it (them?). So when I wanted to pay, she was standing just next to me, looking up (from just a little bit higher than my knee level) and said:

"wah, besarnye...gemuk,"

LOL WTF

Usually, kids are very comfortable with me. It's true (the ones thinking of me as "muka jahat, garang, unfriendly" are the grown up girls...usually in their 17~20's). So, it was kinda not a surprise she would say something to me. But I didn't expect THAT! The father was like "OMG, what are you saying?". Nasib baik aku suka budak kecil (except for the extremely shitty and bratty ones) dan ada 3 bratty little girls at home, so taklah terasa sangat. But still....

And then, when I got back to the food shop, I found out that I'm paying RM3.80 for a very cheapskate cooking. It was so little, my mom would say "tak jadi taik gigi pun,". So cheapskate this new shop. I was thinking, maybe the shop keeper heard what the little girl said to me. LOL.

So, I had to just take it and go back to my room. Which was (is) on the fifth floor of this fricking-no-elevator hostel........

Maybe I have to go on a diet like everybody else?.....YA, AS IF......Again, friends, I would like to remind you that, I have a big frame, not fat...LOL ;D

DrNano

Every Nano-Science class is a new adventure as today, we have yet again, entertained much by just simply going to class.

A change was performed today as the professor neatly wrote the equations on the white board. NEATLY! And in order too. Today was the day we saw the absence of the "scattering effects" on the whiteboard. Even Prof. Lim himself acknowledge the usage of that term in this context as he said,

"Today's note is in order. No scattering effects today,"

The most funny thing today was when he said,

"Nowadays, the term 'nano' is very common. I got this advertisement from somewhere and look,"

He showed us an advertisement showing a very voluptuous female wearing a very tight hotpants. And a sports bra for the top. Ah, but the view was from the back, so, *ahem* the focal point of the picture was her firm *OMG, ladies, please don't look at me differently after this* @$$. It was an advertisement for a slimming product of the brand "DrNano". I think the detail of the advertisement went like this:

The professor continued. Haha. But guys (and maybe SOME girls), you have to admit, if you get to see that kind of picture also your focus point would be, at the @$ also. Well, unless you're like *ahem* [insert you-know-who's-name-here] who is [HAPPY...another meaning of the word].

Today's lesson was very interesting also. Ya la, with the notes in proper order and all. And he gave us extra notes that absentees won't get. LOL.

Tomorrow's tutorial would have to be done by tonight though as he would ask us to do some questions in front. He said la kan. Hope someone distract him like last week, the he would only give extra notes again. Hihi.

PS: Today I saw the sixth pair of shoes of the professor. Arggghhhh. How many does he actually owns? Nak tanya malu, tapi almost died of curiosity man....

Responsibility

This post serves as a reminder for myself and anyone who is willing to accept it. It is not in any way will serve as an instigation medium to revolt against any body or association or anyone at all.

Last night I watched the debate between some minister and the advisor of PKR. The debate was about the recent fuel price hike that had been burdening the people heavily (well, not to the rich it seemed). It was entitled "Hari Ini Bentuk Kerajaan, Esok Turun Harga Minyak" which translates to "Today Forms Government, Tomorrow Reduce Fuel Price" as in a context of a man speaking.

Before going to the main issue of this post, it is a reminder to me that if I'm going to be in a debate, some rules have to be followed:

1) Never perform a personal attack to the opposition
2) Answer the damned question, and not to sway with a personal attack against the opposition
3) Be professional, even if the opposition did a personal attack against you
4) If you don't do much reading/research, you'll end up doing a personal attack against the opposition
5) In you are supporting your team, a personal attack against the oppositon without proper research will only result in your shame
6) Be calm, swallow your saliva, even if you are too excited doing a personal attack against the opposition (damn that was disgusting last night)

From all that, I think you get some idea of how last night's debate went.

Don't get me wrong though. I'm not pro to one side. I went to school in a government school. I owe much to them. It's because of them I'm in the state I am now. *read those two lines with all the meanings they have* And you have to admit, when one side brings out all the facts and then get lashed out with personal attacks by the other, in the end, you too can see who was in the losing side. Not to mention the guilty side.

Okay, getting to the point. Last night, the PKR's advisor said something that gets to me.

The word responsibility reminded me of a part of the Declaration of Independence.

I don't know if he meant it or not, but the PKR's advisor also said,

Well, even if he did not mean it, at least he said it on national TV. So, it will be his shame if he goes against it one day. But, I doubt that someone who can tell you about responsibility will not hold on to his own words. Unless he is like someone who sleeps on national TV.

Eh, alamak, dah terlambat. Got to go to class now. Nano sicence :D...Responsibility hmmmhmmm :).

All in a day's life...again

Hellooooooooo.....I'm back again with my whenever-I-want-to-update-I-will-so-you-shaddap update. Hihi...

Let's start from the very beginning. I woke up early today despite of sleeping very late (slept at 4:30AM and woke up at 6:30AM). And I did not sleep after that. As boring as this seems, trust me, in the end later, this event will prove significant. For me at least.

Because of the quiz we would be having later in the evening, I reluctantly went to study at the library (and yes, Gandalf the Grey below had a hand in making me going to the library....two hands actually..."YOU SHALL NOT PASS!"). Then at 11AM I went for the Multimedia class which was taught by Miss Tay who seemed to be much slimmer than she used to be (Okay people, somebody give the link to this page to Miss Tay so that I can get extra marks... (^_^) ...hihi). Haih...everybody seemed to have lost weight these days. First there was Ms. YM, then Ms. E, then Ms. Y, then Ms. NN, then Mr. FM, then then then....even Joshua went for swimming to slim(?) down. Aku je yang stay the same...if not getting bigger.

Aaaaaaaanyways, after Multimedia class I went back to the library to continue studying. Like someone used to say, "so kuai"...eventhough I don't really know what that means. *fast forward*. Then it was 5PM. Waiting outside the class was Magued(?) and Mohammed(?). I told them that we would be having quiz today and Magued's reply was,

"I know. I knew he said last time,"

The confidence he had in his voice was overwhelming that I became shaken and afraid of the quiz so suddenly. Then came the questions. There were 2 questions that were....half half la. Nak kata susah tak la susah sangat. But they weren't that easy either. I think I did better this time than I did the first one. I HOPE I did better. Please? The funny thing was, Magued left his paper blank. And I was like,

"WTH?"
"What happened?"

He repeated Prof. Lim's words,

"It's either you can do it or you cannot,"

Haha. Where was the confidence he had, had gone to I don't know. Then continuing with the lecture. Today we came into the topic "Lattice Vibration". But not before Prof. Lim did some revision on the topic before. This time he:

1) Left an unfinished equation
2) Made a smiley on the whiteboard

For #2, at first I told Badruz, "kenapa die lukis smiley tu?". But we kept it down so that it won't disrupt the class. Then one dude (aiyoh, have to learn your names la people) went and ask, "sir, why is there a smiley on the whiteboard?". All were laughing like hell. And the professor said, "wah, very nice imagination,". Haha. Maybe I should've said it out loud after all.

Then in the "Lattice Vibration" part of the lecture, we came across this Bose-Einstein, Fermi-Dirac and Maxwell-Boltzmann equations. I spaced out a bit just to came back down to earth in time to hear Prof. Lim said, "they are different people. I think Bose is an Indian and Boltzmann is German,". The class was laughing, again. And eventhough I had very little understanding as to why they were, I decided to join in the fun. Hehe. Always laughing in the class made it less boring I'd say.

I told Joshua that Bose, Einstein, Fermi, Dirac, Maxwell, and Boltzmann are all guys. And combining guy's name with another guy's sounded so, gay. Which led us to the hypothesis that maybe all scientists of the past were gays. Hihi. And it led to another hypothesis that maybe someone from our class to be a scientist later in life because of suspected gayness. Ah, bukan ko ek, Rompin. Itu suspected gay. Ko confirmed dah memang gay. Kwahaha.

Rompin...hensem kan? :) (sian Rompin terkene smalam)

Towards the last 30 minutes of the class, I jested to Badruz because he dozed off even after eating a KOPIKO candy. He said, "tak tahan, panjang sangat lecture. kesan KOPIKO tak tahan lama sangat,". LOL. And as I was focusing, eventually, I also fell victim to the sleep demon. But the worst thing was, the reason I became sober was because I heard a voice slowly getting loud. THE PROFESSOR WAS STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! $h!!!!!!!!t...Kantoi! And this brings the significance of the 2nd paragraph into picture. Never sleep for only 2 hours when you want to have class till 7PM. Habisla aku kene target nanti....T_T

PS: Bonus question....

How many pairs of shoes does Prof. Lim owns? Because including today's pair, I counted 5 pairs. Anyone knows the exact amount, do let me know. Curiosity kills....slowly.

Another day, another adventure...weeeee~~~

*toing toing* *inhale* *exhale* *waaaaaa* *uhuk uhuk* *brrrrr*

Eh? Dah mule ek? *ahem*

Hihi...today's class was.......ummm......ummmm......as usual? Today was tutorial class. Apparently some students were missing (*hint* Keng Soon, Thanesh, Kirthi...ops). Supposedly, tutorial 2 would be discussed. But, in the usualness of the professor, he made an extra question to help the student *wah so good, so nicee*. Well, it was nice, and good, at least until we couldn't figure out what the answer was. And then, came another quote of the day,

"wahhh....macam ini aaaa,"

"hancurrrrr,"

That was what the professor said. TOTALLY IN MALAY. And he said that towards the chinese guys and one little lady. LOL. They were like, "OMG sir, the malays are over there," while looking at us. We were all laughing like hell. This is the first time ever I heard the professor said something in Bahasa Melayu. I heard he spoke in a chinese language (sorry, I can't differentiate between the languages you have..mandarin, cantonese, hokkien and many more...I ain't Russel Peters..LOL) before. Don't get me wrong here. I think someone that can speak another's language is great (somehow, english speakers are not categorized in this, sorry). Especially if they are girls. If an indian or a chinese girl speaks malay to me, in secret I will be like, "waaa...so cute,". OPS. Not so secret anymore hehe. But limited to MMU students only :).

Okay, continue with the story......Eh alamak, so hungry la...I go eat first...

Ei, I was really eating ok? (ayat yang kalau adik aku dengar nanti die tak sudah cerita).

Alright, really continue now. Then he gave us some Bohr equation about the excitons. He asked us to solve the equation which we cannot because it was already solved. Hmmm....do you think age has finally caught up with him? (Later if I got to find the characters' combination I'll put up the equation here)

Today's class beat the previous classes so far. Why? Because today, we were told to do something INCREDIBLE, STUPENDOUS, MAGNIFICENT but ultimately IMPOSSIBLE.

You see, Prof. Lim's specialty is writing notes on the whiteboard with scattering effects (ehehe...never thought "scattering effects" could be used in this kind of sentence). Basically, the notes are a little bit here, and then comes a long arrow pointing somewhere on the whiteboard to continue it. And he ususally make use of the whiteboard to the fullest extent of space. So he wrote something (some equation, k0=1 bla bla bla...) on the bottom part of the whiteboard. In FOE building, the lecture rooms have this one-of-a-kind-old-slash-ancient-but-quite-high-tech projectors which are fixed to the floor. When you want to use the projectors, you have to unfold(?) it so that it stands and can project whatever transparency slides you have. As quite amazing (as if) as they are, they actually hinders your view of the lower part of the whiteboard especially when you sit in the middle of the room because that is where they are fixed. So, back to the equation the professor wrote. Some of the students who sat in front and in the middle could not see it.



They told the professor,

"sir, cannot see wor,"

And get this, his reply beat the previous quote of the day.

"then bend your eyes la,"

WTH is "bend your eyes"? And and and, he said that while bending his knees and both hands in front (with a marker in one). I tell you ah, it was like watching those all time favourite chinese ghost stories all over again. You know, the movies where the ghosts have this one kind of amulet on their head. And if that amulet is removed, they will start jumping. *toing toing* "Bend your eyes" LOL. He bent his knees instead. Some students were making actions on how to bend their eyes. Haha. "Like this aaa," while using their hands to make some "bending" actions. What a class today was. And the old genius tricked us into having a two-hours class today. Haha. It seems that you really can't beat someone THAT experienced. Maybe next time though.

PS: I hope this post is not considered as racist because of what I wrote. The professor being chinese is just a coincidence. If he was Malay or Indian or even International Lecturer, I would still describe him as the chinese ghost too. And mind you, I'm not a racist. Ask my friends, they'll tell you the same......I hope.

Extra

~I slept in class today because after the third equation, I was lost.
~Just when I thought I was the only one sleeping, I turned around to find, only two people who sat behind me were awake. *not feeling guilty anymore*
~Seriously, when I said "of Narnia", I thought it was only a whisper. Turned out, even the people who were sleeping were laughing at that.
~The Professor should have said "Kronecker Delta" in one breath rather than "Kronecker.....*inhale*...Delta" which gave me the time to said the "of Narnia" part during the inhaling process. (Kronecker of Narnia....get it?..Kronecker --> Chronicle....bah, if you get it you get it lah)
~It was found out that, Prof. Lim cannot really pronounce the word "ortho" for the "orthogonal" and the "orthonormal"...if he tries hard, it will be like this:
"ot...ot...ottho...........*hehe...what else? inhale* gonnal" which was the base for Amin and Nad's laughter.
~Why am I writing about this subject the most? Because THIS IS FUN, WHEEEEEEEE, like walking in a penguin costume ~~~~

Don't get me wrong here. The guy is a total genius. An absent minded one maybe, but still, a genius. Tapi, the notes on the whiteboard all scattered around a bit here and there. How to understand la? The video of lecture time cannot be uploaded.....yet...because of the size and the act of some people in it. :)

Today in History

Hehe...
Let me tell you what today's events were.

1) After Multimedia class, at Misri Plaza, I met Adam, who while eating the oh-so-yummy crab balls on a stick (please refrain from having dirty thoughts, thanks), said to me,

"Wah, dah kurus ko sekarang ye,"

..................WAHAHAHA....me? thin? so not the drama (Kim Possible's line)...though it's gotten into me for a moment there...haha, nice one Adam. Have to buy you more crab balls on a stick.....(again, please, thanks).

2) Talked with more girls than ever before. Although it was on official matters of the CCIP, but who cares. Aku pemalu orangnye...so what? buzz off...............

3) While studying for the quiz in library (for the oh-so-famous subject, Nono-I-should-have-dropped-it Science), got a call to a treat by the CCIP committee. It was a perfect meal I tell you. A very tasteless pulut kuning (yellow sticky rice) combo-ing with a very salty beef rendang, and a very tasteless Sarsaparilla drink combo-ing with a very sweet "laddoo". Fuiyo, they really managed to bring out the perfect teamwork between the pulut with the rendang, and the drink with the dessert.

4) A MIRACLE!! Not one, but two, very lovely ladies sat down beside me while I was eating. Not on a chair mind you. It was on the floor, and "duduk bersila" right beside me. ME. The one even a close friend would rather sit with a distance. The one when I sit beside, a girl would change her place of seating far far away. And I tell you, the ladies really are lovely. Bukan main-main punya tau. And they ARE ladies, not girls, or the skank types which if they were, I would have run away. *checking if this time it's a treat from God just before a storm*

5) A DISASTER!! The quiz was, oh-so-easy-but-so-hard-at-the-same-time kinda hard. Should have believed him when he said, "finite quantum well everything will come out". *guess #4 really was a treat before the storm*

I purposely didn't copy the notes on the white board just so that I can capture what he was saying. Jahat kan? Guess the last part of his sentence was said after he used an inhaler in his mind. WAKAKA! *inhale*

Nano Science? Maybe it should be “No-donno” Science

This trimester I’m taking the subject Nano Science which was supposed to be taken by my batch in the third trimester. This is one of those case of “gatal mengada-ngada”. Or not. You see, I phailed a few of my subjects for the last trimester. And to make things worse, I even phailed the supplementary examinations. Well, it was hell for me. Here in MMU and back home where constant reminders are sent flying just when you least expected. Sometimes, I felt like my ears are bleeding from all the sharpness of words that were directed at me. Hey, not that I’m proud that I phailed, but according to a great friend of mine, “yea theres nothing to hide wert” (that is the exact line from what he said…Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V from message history). First time ever phailed in MMU life and it struck me with more than one subject. Haha.

Now, back to the originally planned story. So, the lecturer for the subject is the “oh-that-so-easy-I-can-do-with-my-eyes-closed” lecturer, Prof. Lim Swee Cheng. One thing about this guy, he is good. No, is great is more like it actually. He’s so good, he made the goodness of Dr. Chong Fook Seng from Alpha Year seems like second rate. Though he does usually made mistakes when writing on the whiteboard. But, given the age he is now and the white hair and the wrinkles and the thickness of his spectacles and the funny voice and the funny blank stare at you when you ask some things and the constant disregard for formal attire (wau, that’s a lot of “ands”…though the formal attire thing is so not the issue LOL), he is really that good.

Today, he almost finished chapter one of the subject. And what a pain today’s class was. Made me remember my calculus lecturer’s words, “one day, you will learn mathematics without numbers and you will ask “what is this?””. All the derivations, the differentiations, the conversions, the whatever-is-this-thing?-tions. Ah, ya. Forgot to tell you all. This subject, although named Nano Science, is more likely an advanced mathematics (for the first chapter, that is because Prof. Lim has yet to upload the notes for other chapters). Although there is the oh-so-familiar Schrödinger Equation from Solid State Electronics that made its return (yay?). And during the tutorial session (which was conducted right after class today making it two straight hours of brain-burning activity), he made fun of us when we did not know how to solve the questions. To quote him today during tutorial:

“This question is straight forward, very easy,”

“You should know all these things already,

“The Hamiltonian Operator and the Eigen Value should be at your fingertips already,”

“Schrödinger Equation is very important in this subject,”

And the kicker,

“What is so hard? You tell me which part of mathematics is hard,” while pointing at all the derivations he wrote on the whiteboard which contains only “A”, “B”, “Chi”, “Psi”, “X”, “Epsilon”, and all those symbols with only one number that is “2” because one of the formula have “2m*” in it.

Ah, another one missing, and not a good news for us either:

“If this tutorial you cannot do, then the test will be so much harder. Then how do you do it then?”



…………………………………………………………………WTF?!



Haiyo, if he is telling the truth (which is always the case because he is the kind of guy we can call “bendul” trans: straight forward…?), then I’m screwed [with skru driver mata Philip]. Study, study, next week got “quiz-that-can-happen-at-any-time-and-can-open-book-but-the-questions-will-be-harder” quiz. LOL.
